Philanthropy

Non-Local

As one of the many Greek organizations here in Conway, we strive to help our community by raising money for local charities and philanthropies as well as being the muscle to their events whenever we can.  We have several brothers within our UCA Circle K Club, which you can look at here, as well as members in several other organizations which also focus on the community, such as Alpha Lambda Delta, SGA, and even our own IFC which oversees all fraternities, but holds its own programs.  We've been a part of Top Soccer, this year's Amigo Cup, and will even be working the Alpha Sigma Alpha's Special Olympics run with them.  This, along with this year's clothes drive, any events that we plan for the local Boys and Gilrs club, and the support we give to the rest of the greek community in their endeavors keeps us busy supporting our community in many different ways.

Why Special Olympics?

"You'll never witness such pure joy as you do in the eyes of Special Olympics athletes. Their thrill of involvement and participation is inspiring and, at times, overwhelming.”

David McHolland, Champion for Special Olympics

Phi Sig National Philanthropy

Every year we raise money for Susan G. Komen by selling merchandice in the Student Center, as well as have our new Associate Members pick an organization or charity of their choice to support and fundraise for.  This year we're looking at a range of different options including the state Children's Hospital, St. Judes, and St. Vincent.  Also, we are hosting this year a 5K Fun Run for the Special Olympic World Games in Los Angeles for 2015.  This is a very big deal for us, as it takes $2,500 to sponsor one athlete in these games of over 7,000 athletes.  While one sounds great, we are going for four.  $10,000 is the number we want to raise from our "Conway Fun Run for Special Olympics", giving a dream come true for those athletes that would otherwise not have the funds to attend in the biggest competition of their lives, against those from around the world!  We hope to have not only the support of over 1,000 Greeks, but also a showing of many of our local businesses, civic clubs, and individuals who would help us in our goal.
